Dental Implantation Szeged

  • dental implants = Into the human body we can place only those materials that are accepted by the body, e.g. artificial roots
  • implantation = artificial material implanted to our body

giving the support for crowns, bridges and removable dentures. This is a wonderful solution, because we can implant the artificial root into the place of the lost tooth thus after healing it can take over the original function. Replacing the missing teeth by means of implant dentistry will provide you better comfort, esthetics and harmony of your face with better function in smiling, chewing and biting.

Implant systems we use at Feher Dent Esthetic Dentistry:

Denti implants, Camlog implants, Pitt-Easy implants, Nobel-Biocare implants, Zimmer implants, IMTEC mini-implant system

Adventages of implant dentistry

- Healthy teeth can be saved from grinding

- Missing molars: we can avoid the usage of removable partial denture. With implant dentistry it is still possible to make a fixed bridgework.

- In the situation of the completely edentulous jaws , after a certain period of time the removable complete dentures become loose. With implant supported dentures, the function could be back to normal again.

- In optimal circumstances, implant supported dental works can work against the bone resorption of the edentulous jaws.

- You can possible avoid to use removable dentures

- With better function and stable bridgework and dentures can give you more self confidence and succes in your interpersonal relationship.

Material of Implants

Into the human body (jaw at this case) we can place only those materials that will not cause any local or general disease and will not be rejected. Implants are made of titanium and alumina that doesn’t cause any allergic reaction, and is accepted by the body. Implants have cylinder or cone shape at most cases, their length varies between 7-21mm and their diameter is about 2,5-6mm. The implants cervical part have micro-rings serving well-adhesion to their environment and at well designated parts the implants have screwless surfaces.

Lifetime of implants

At proper oral hygiene and regular dental check-ups the implant’s condition maintain as long as the neighbouring teeth. The long term success of implant based crowns / bridges mostly depends on You and the carried out hygiene, and as they are constantly used changing them is highly recommended in every 10-15 years, meanwhile the implants still can serve their function perfectly.

The risk of implant surgery

Most of the implants are placed in local anaesthesia. The anesthetics we use are not known of having any allergic reaction. When placing the implants it is theoretically possible to injure neighbouring structures, altough with the right technique and planning these risks are usually minimal. Into the human body when we place artificial materials they might cause any local or general disease and might be rejected. Dental implant rejections are relatively low.

Who can get dental implants?

Dental implants can be used in most cases due to advanced procedures and techniques. The ideal patient to recieve a dental implant shall have the approriate quality and quantity of jaw bone, in order to have a stabil implant. There are many relative contraindications which has to be judged individually: heavy smoking, certain type of drugs, diabetes mellitus, bleading disorders.

Steps of implant surgery

The preparation of implant based crowns / bridges needs extremely high level of accuracy. Two fields of dentistry need to be synchronized, a prosthesist and an implantologist (dento-alveolar surgeon). Prosthesist will design the dental work after detailed discussion of the patient’s medical history. Together with the implantologist the exact place of the implant/s will be located by looking at the patient’s study-plaster model, X-ray, dental check-up, in some cases extra examinations might be required. In an ideal case the prosthesist and implantologist is the same person. After thorough planning and informing the patient of the procedure, the implant will be placed finally to the jaw. If indicated before the actual placing of the implant, the implantologist might prepare the jaw for recieving the implant by eliminating local inflammation, sinus lifting, bone replacement. Following this we usually suture the wound on the mucosa, the time of recovery is about 3-6 months, meanwhile the bone tissue of the jaw will surround the implant to provide perfect fixation and stability. Temporarily minor swelling or discoloration can occur. The patient doesn’t need to fear strong pain after the procedure. The surgery is carried out in local anaesthesia so after the procedure the patient can leave our clinic immediately. For the time period of recovery temporary prosthesis can comfort the patient. Regular check-ups are essentials all through the recovery time! After the above mentioned 3-6 months, incision is carried out right above the implant to remove the healing screw and replace it with a gum-forming screw. As the final step impression is taken and brought to the dental technician to prepare the previously desgined prosthesis, which will be finally placed on top of the implant and the patient is adviced to go for check-up in every 4-6 months.
